It is frighteningly out of date in places but the principles are sound, I think. I downloaded it and plan to read it thoroughly. I work for the government of Buenos Aires City, and we made an internal manual a couple of months ago. You might want to check it out: http://nuevosmedios.posterous.com/manual-de-uso-de-facebook-en-areas-de-gobiern Of course it's in spanish. Sorry... Nice one! Government organisations deal with some very personal elements of our lives, and social widgets such as Facebook 'Like' buttons allow Facebook to track the pages you visit - you do not have to click on the button, nor do you have to be logged into Facebook. So for example, the Facebook 'Like' buttons on the NHS Choices pages allow Facebook to see which medical information I am viewing. Public sector organisations need to ensure that when we go to them to access sensitive information - that stays private.
