That’s something that Dave Briggs and I have discussed before and he has picked up on in a recent blog post. And, come to that, if a microsite is the best place to have those conversations - maybe placing something where people spend their time, rather than at yet another destination site might be a useful approach? A conversation for UKGovWeb Barcamp, for sure. Your approach is definitely better – but I wonder if a stream of comment is the most useful input for a decision maker? I've pointed it out in the past (remember The Walks?) and I'll probably end up pointing it out again, but hopefully you've got the background, jargon and reputation to get some movement going. My current pet hate is out-of-date news items. Instead of "just in time" (JIT) announcements, N-Somerset.gov.uk seems to specialise in "nearly in time" (NIT) news. Last week, over two weeks into January, the top story was Christmas waste collections. This week, just as the weather warms up and I can see across to Wales again, the top story is road gritting. Argh! Hell yeah, this is standard fare.
